The Ultimate Morocco Travel Packing Checklist

As a multicultural country proud of its African roots, Morocco is one of the top destinations for visitors eager to experience new cultures and traditions while enjoying a delightful travel experience. However, like any trip, it is essential to prepare well before heading to your destination. Today, we will discuss the essential items to pack in your suitcase before traveling to Morocco, the land of the setting sun.

    Hiking Shoes for Adventurers

Lovers of mountains, hiking, and long hours of walking should always prepare with suitable packing. Be sure to bring special hiking shoes that will make your treks comfortable.

    Sunscreen and Anti-Mosquito Lotions

Morocco has an exceptional climate, boasting more than 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Therefore, you will need to protect yourself properly. Don't forget to bring sunscreen with good UV protection. Additionally, for those with very sensitive skin, a product like Bioderma is indispensable. Remember to pack a cap and sunglasses as well. For those planning to visit remote areas with a warmer climate, it's wise to take anti-mosquito lotions to protect yourself from the risk of bites—you never know!

Long Clothes or Outfits and a Scarf for Religious Places

Morocco, rich in its ancestral and Muslim culture, is filled with religious sites worth visiting. Tours can be arranged to these places known for their exceptional architecture. Out of respect for local customs and to fully enjoy your experience, consider wearing long clothing and bringing a scarf for use as needed.

A First Aid Kit for Your Health

Your health is a priority. Regardless of your destination (these tips are not exclusive to a trip to Morocco), do not forget to bring your prescriptions if you require medication or are following a specific treatment. Some medications cannot be dispensed without a medical prescription, so having the prescription is essential to be able to purchase them. To further safeguard your health, pack a first aid kit with all the necessary items to treat common ailments. Additionally, to combat the risk of diarrhea (often caused by hygiene issues or water), consider taking anti-diarrheal medications.

Wet Wipes, Especially in Remote Areas

Many restaurant toilets, especially in small towns, do not provide toilet paper. Having wet wipes or tissues on hand will be invaluable! For good hygiene, be sure to also bring hand sanitizer.

    Sleeping Bag

It depends on how you travel. You will definitely need one if you plan to camp for a few days during your stay.

A Backpack to Carry Only the Essentials

A backpack (ideally 10 liters) is necessary if you plan to travel to the Sahara or the deserts of Morocco, or if you’re going on hikes or treks. You'll need it to carry only what you will require. So, are you ready to pack your suitcase and fly to Africa? Let the adventure begin!
